Kieran Beville is an Irish poet, writer, and visual artist with a long-standing engagement in literature, art, and cultural criticism. He taught English and History before lecturing at University College Cork and later serving as Professor of Intercultural Studies at Tyndale Theological Seminary in Amsterdam. His career has taken him across Europe, the Middle East, and India, where he has worked in teaching and leadership training across cultural and ideological divides. He has published widely in respected journals, magazines, and anthologies, and is the author of several books, including six volumes of poetry. Alongside his writing, he also works in painting, exploring the relationship between image, meaning, and interpretation.
His first book, Image & Echo, brought together poetry and visual art through the practice of ekphrasis. Bearing Witness For Gaza, his second book, reflects a more direct engagement with history, injustice, and moral responsibility, shaped by a lifelong commitment to critical inquiry and human dignity.
